“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3).
I really needed this verse this week with all that is going on in our world today (i.e. Afghanistan, earthquake in Haiti, and persistent fires in northern California) as well as in my personal world (i.e. my kids going back to school in-person while the delta variant is a factor). I’ve been feeling a little off center. In this verse, God promises peace for us as we trust in the Lord. The key to this perfect peace is being steadfast in our trust. This means we need to put our trust in God continuously. Throughout our day, whenever anxiety and concern rise, we need to turn them over to God again, and again, and again. And God promises that this ongoing act of entrusting ourselves to God will lead us to complete peace.
