Dear Friends,
Jesus claims to be continually at work in the world in partnership with the Father. He says in John 5:17 (NIV), "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” Do you believe that Jesus is always at work? Let's be watching together to see what he is doing.
For the last few weeks, we have been talking on Sundays about paying attention to what
God is doing around us and specifically about looking for ways to build relationships of trust and to provoke curiosity about Jesus among our friends. What this looks like on the ground is inviting people to do things we enjoy doing together with us and being curious ourselves about other people and their thoughts and experiences.
Who can you invite to do something you enjoy with you this week? Make a plan to invite them and to pay attention to what Jesus is doing in them, in you, and in your relationship and your time together. Think and pray about good questions you could ask to learn more about them and to stimulate their curiosity about you and your relationship with Jesus.
A Prayer for This Week:
Jesus, show me who among my friends and acquaintances you would like me to spend more time with. Help me to invite them into relationship and to be curious about them, about their thoughts and their life. Help me to pay attention to what you are doing as we spend time together. Amen.
Love in Christ,
Michelle
