Nourishing the Soul

Dear Friends,

This week I have been meditating on these words from Proverbs 11:17 (TLB).

Your own soul is nourished when you are kind;
it is destroyed when you are cruel.

The longer I live, the more certain I become that these words are true. Those who have real joy are those who do good to others. Those who seem to thrive on cruelty are wasting away on the inside. Pray for them because they are hurting themselves more than anyone else. And strive to nourish your own soul through kindness.

A prayer:
Jesus fill me with your life and your love. Let your kindness be in me always. Have mercy on all those around me who are far from love and bring them healing and life. Amen.
