"The Lord God placed man in the Garden of Eden to tend and care for it" (Genesis 2:15)
Coast Creation Care (CCC) is our environmental ministry that seeks to:
» Support Coast Vineyard as a church that is committed to caring for God's creation
» Collaborate with community groups on environmental stewardship projects
» Act as witnesses to Christ by our presence in the community
» Work to bridge the gaps between the Christian community (and among the Christian community) and the general public based on a better understanding of the Creator and the stewardship of God's creation
If you've been to Coast Vineyard on a Sunday morning, you've probably noticed the amount of coffee we serve, and the number of disposable cups needed to do so! In response to this problem, the Creation Care team has designed travel coffee or tea mugs with the Creation Care logo. You can get your own for $5 at the Book Table on Sunday mornings. We encourage you to bring it with you on Sundays, take it to work and school and even to your local coffee shop. The mugs also make great gifts!
For more information, please contact Lindsey: lharvey08@apu.edu. Please share with us your ideas & suggestions too!
Recycling:
Recycling is something EVERYONE can do...and easily!
» We encourage you to recycle your church bulletins (unless you choose to save them of course!) in one of our paper recycling bins located at each entrance/exit of church auditorium
» For those of you who do not have the luxury of curbside pick-up, please bring your recycling Sundays (bottles, cans, glass, paper, etc) to church on Sundays--we have a big white bin out back that gets picked up regularly.
Coast Creation Care Tip of the Month (November 2009):
This Thanksgiving, remember the three Rs of conservation: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.Reduce the amount of waste you produce by buying only as much as you need. Carry reusable bags when you do your shopping, and use cloth napkins at the dinner table. Recycle paper, and all plastic, glass and aluminum containers. If you don’t already have a compost bin, use your Thanksgiving fruit and vegetable trimmings to start one. The compost will enrich the soil in your garden next spring.
